Evolve a
fit-for-purpose and resilience organisation with Kanban maturity model
Some of the companies that we helped, and their staff took our training

The Kanban Maturity Model codifies more than 10 years of experience implementing kanban systems and using Kanban method across diverse industries, in businesses small to extremely large. It plays an important role in creating unity, alignment, a sense of purpose, and good governance. Use it to gain a better sense of achievement, provide better products and services, delight your customers, and realize superior business results.

“When you start to learn about KMM it is very hard to put all the pieces together to make sense. You have to trust, start to follow it, apply it, and, most importantly, learn from the process. After some time it will become clear, and you will see that you have already started improving even if you didn’t realize it.”
Daniel Escudero Romero
Europe Regional Processes Head at CEMEX

“Our experience is completely positive. Our results generate trust with our customers and our NPS has increased. #e KMM is easy to apply in any business unit.”
José Manuel Garcia Valdivia
Operations Director of Employee Benefits, Nationale Nederlanden
“The new release of the Kanban Maturity Model ful%ls the essence of Kanban: continuous improvement through evolutionary change. #e context changes and the model help organizations to adapt and even anticipate changes. #e cohesion between practices, cultural values, and business benefits are the basis of management, and in the book, the authors involve these ingredients in a dance which grabs you and encourages you to try it.”
Juan J. Gil Bilbao
Agile Coach, BBVA Spain
Appropriateness: There is no such thing as bad Kanban only inappropriate practice adoption.
One of the reasons that the Kanban Maturity Model (KMM) emerged was to address two failure modes of implementing kanban system and adopting the Kanban method practices. These two failure modes are Overreaching (too much, too soon) and False Summit Plateau ("We've done Kanban, it helped us, what else?").
KMM helps Managers, Team Leads, Coaches, and Consultants to avoid these two failure modes by giving them a clear playbook and guidance to lead a successful change.
Module 1: Introduction to Kanban Maturity Model
If you have completed Kanban Systems Improvement (KSI) course you should be already familiar with the Kanban Maturity Model (KMM) architecture. In this module, we will dive deeper into the architecture, its purpose, and application.
In this module, you will also learn how to lead with values (KMM Cultural Mantra) as a guiding principle in driving evolutionary change with Kanban Maturity Model.
Culture follows Values
Practices follow Culture
Outcomes follow Practices
To start your evolutionary change design, You will be introduced to Evolutionary Change Model (ECM) schema, a powerful tool to organize your thoughts and strategies for leading change.
Module 2: Understanding an organization's maturity
Now that you have the necessary foundation by completing Module 1, it is time to dive deeper into each maturity model and understand the meaning of culture and how to find evidence that supports or undermines a claim of value in any organization. KMM gives you clear guidance on the types of evidence you can look for to determine the true cultural values.
In this module, we will also review a case study from the financial industry and dive deeper into the continuous connection between Culture, Practice, and Outcomes.
Similar to Kanban System Design (KSD) and Kanban Systems Improvement (KSI) classes, in this module, you will also apply your learnings to your real-life case or organization with guidance from the trainer.
Module 3: Barriers to improvement and organisational progressive evolution
Actionable, Evidence-based, and Pragmatic guidance is what the Kanban method is all about. In this module, You will learn how to identify barriers to improvement specific to each maturity levels, and ways to overcome those barriers at different maturity levels at your organization or your client's organization (if you are a consultant or coach).
Module 4: Design your change
This is the module that pulls it all together. Using the assessment and analysis done in module 2 together with Evolutionary Change Model (ECM) and barriers to improvement, you will work with a real case (your own or trainer will provide you one) to design a change approach and engagement model (for external or internal customers).

Best value for money, short payback period
Whether you are investing in Kanban method courses from your pocket, or your company supports you with the hope for a high investment return.
You can rest assured that you can put the evidence-based and pragmatic guidance of the Kanban method into action immediately. Most importantly, you will not need to go through a large-scale change initiative to use the Kanban method. You can always start from wherever you are today and evolve from there (one of the Change Management principles in the Kanban method).
